Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 15, 2026

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Ring AI mobile application and related services (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, discontinue use and delete the App. This policy should be read with our Terms of Service and Subscription Terms.

Important disclaimers

Ring AI is a fitness and training application for boxing technique analysis, reaction training, and nutritional tracking. It is not a healthcare service, medical device, therapy, or counseling. We do not provide medical advice or create a doctor-patient relationship. We do not create, receive, maintain, or transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. Information you enter is used only to provide App functionality. If you need professional help for injuries or medical conditions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the App, personalisation, and improvements.

1.1 Information you provide

Account: When you create an account we may collect email, name, and sign-in dates (e.g. via Apple or Google).

Profile and preferences: You may provide boxing style, training frequency, body metrics, weight class, and similar settings. This is optional to the extent the App allows.

Videos and images: You may upload boxing footage for AI analysis. When you choose to analyse a clip, the video is transmitted to Google Gemini (see Section 5). Videos are processed for technique analysis and stored securely. You can delete your videos at any time.

Nutrition data: You may log meals, scan barcodes, and track macros. When you use the meal scanner, the photo you capture is transmitted to Google Gemini for nutritional estimation (see Section 5). This data is stored to provide nutritional insights.

Payment: Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store. We do not store full payment credentials; Apple handles payment data under their own policies.

1.2 Automatically collected information

We may collect device type, OS version, app version, identifiers permitted by the platform, IP address, and crash or diagnostics data. We may collect usage and analytics data (features used, session duration, performance) to improve the App.

We may request permissions such as camera, photo library, and push notifications when needed. We do not access contacts, microphone (except for voice-guided training), or precise location unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.

2. How we use information

We use collected information to: provide and maintain the App; analyse boxing footage using AI; generate personalised training plans and drills; track nutrition and body metrics; improve performance and reliability; communicate updates or support; process subscriptions; detect fraud or abuse; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal basis (EEA and UK)

Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of: performance of a contract (providing the App); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement); consent where required for optional features; and legal obligations.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor; they will be required to handle it consistently with this policy or provide notice of changes.

5. Third-party AI processing & data sharing

To provide core features of the App we transmit certain user data to Google LLC via the Google Gemini API. Below is a detailed breakdown of what is sent, how it is collected, and how it is used.

5.1 Video analysis

Data sent: When you tap "Analyse Clip," the boxing video you selected or recorded is uploaded to Google Gemini for AI-powered technique analysis.

How collected: You record or select the video from your device's camera or photo library.

Purpose: Google Gemini processes the video and returns a coaching report (punch detection, form corrections, and recommendations). The video is used solely to generate your analysis and is not retained by Google for model training.

5.2 Meal photo scanning

Data sent: When you use the meal scanner, the photo you capture is sent to Google Gemini for nutritional estimation.

How collected: You take or select the photo using your device's camera or photo library.

Purpose: Google Gemini analyses the image and returns estimated macronutrient data (calories, protein, carbs, fat). The photo is used solely to generate your nutrition estimate and is not retained by Google for model training.

5.3 What is NOT sent

We do not send your name, email, account credentials, health data, location, contacts, or any other personal information to Google Gemini. Only the specific video or photo you choose to analyse is transmitted.

5.4 Third-party protections

Google processes data transmitted via the Gemini API under the Google API Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Under these terms, data sent through the Gemini API is not used by Google to train its models. Google applies industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular audits, providing protection that is equal to or exceeds the safeguards we apply to your data.

5.5 Disclaimer

AI-generated analysis is for informational and educational purposes only and should not replace professional coaching or medical advice.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, secure infrastructure) to protect your information. No system is completely secure; you should protect your credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.

7. Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App, maintain accounts, and comply with legal obligations. After you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate purposes (e.g. disputes, fraud prevention).

8. Cookies and tracking

The App and our website may use cookies, mobile identifiers, or similar technologies for functionality and analytics. We do not use your training or usage data for advertising profiling. You may manage some preferences via your device settings.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, or to data portability. You may exercise these by contacting us (e.g. in-app support). We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

10. International transfers

Information may be processed or stored outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

11. Age restrictions

The App is intended for users at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from younger users. If we learn an account does not meet age requirements, we may suspend or terminate it and delete associated data where appropriate.

12. Third-party services

Links or integrations to third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies. This policy does not apply to them.

13. Account deletion

You may delete your account through the App or by contacting us. Deletion will remove personal data associated with the account except where we must retain it by law.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes may be communicated in the App, by email, or by posting an updated policy. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

15. Contact

For questions about this Privacy Policy or your privacy rights, contact us at support@ring-ai.app or through the app (Settings → Give Feedback / Report a Bug).
